Expert Witness
Our senior surveyors are leading figure heads within the legal community and are recognised as experienced and effective expert witnesses acting on a variety of property related disputes.
With the introduction of the Woolf Reforms in the late 1990s there has been an emphasis on obtaining specialist expert advise at an early stage in any potential dispute and a move towards appointing single joint experts to save cost and time.
Members of our practice are familiar with these procedures and have acted in numerous disputes on a wide variety of topics, including: valuation disputes, boundary disputes, building disputes, rights to light, dilapidations, landlord & tenant, rights of way, alterations and negligent surveys/professional advice.
Reports can be prepared to assess technical merits of initiating legal proceedings. Expert advice will be given through all stages in either County or High Court including acting as Expert Witness in conjunction with your Legal Advisers.
We have particular experience in the following:
- Reports prepared for Litigation purposes
- Experience in giving oral evidence and undergoing cross-examination
- Trained in the Civil Procedure Rules to the CPR
- Instructions taken as a Party Appointed Expert, Single Joint Expert or an Expert Advisor
- Instructions accepted under Legal Aid Schemes
